One of the days we drove north to Frankenmuth, and on the way back Jared showed us where he will be for the last two years of medical school in Flint. The picture above was taken at a park near the big river, what used to be a beautiful park in its "heyday" (before unions destroyed the economy of Michigan.) It had water running all through that whole area, it would have been so cool to see what it looked like back then. It's pretty sad.
Another day we drove west to the coast of Lake Michigan and hung out on the beach for a little while.
On the 4th of July we drove east to Detroit to watch the Tigers game. It was a blast. The game started 2 1/2 hours late due to rain, so while we waited we went to a dollar store and bought ponchos and fake mustaches. It was pretty funny.
Jared really loved hanging out with his sisters.
On the way back to the airport in Detroit we stopped at the Ford museum and saw the Titanic exhibit. It was pretty cool.
Kendra took this picture, and right afterwards the man in the picture came up to her and said, Ma'am, I need you to delete this photo. There is no photography aloud." So she pretended to delete it. Haha! (Sorry Kendra, hope no one sees this and turns you in to the police! ;) )

It's always so nice to have people come visit us, we absolutely love having visitors. We miss everyone in Utah! (and Idaho).
Jared also caught this turtle on accident when he and a friend were fishing. He's a big snapper turtle. Crazy! (Its head is now in my deep freezer, along with the head of the deer he shot last year. Gross!)
I have also been taking two summer classes, (which were both required in order for me to start the Bachelor's in Nursing program this fall): statistics (which I don't recommend taking in the summer as it is only 6 weeks instead of 12 during the normal school year....sick!) and human development. I took my final for human development yesterday and have a few more weeks of statistics left. I'm just praying that I'll pass or that will be the biggest waste of $1700 I've ever spent. Needless to say, it has been a crazy busy month. Well, I'm off to study for another statistics quiz. Barf.

Sweet- it looks like you had a ton of fun with Jared's fam. I must admit though, my favorite pic is the one that says "I like turtles." Mwahaha.
I am never going to open your deep freeze. Scary! I'm glad you guys had fun with the Smed fam!
