Over Memorial Day weekend, Jared and I went up north to Crystal Mountain and met up with a few people he goes to med school with. One of the kid's family owns a condo on Crystal Mountain, so we stayed with them, and Sunday we drove up to Traverse City and took a boat ride on his dad's huge boat on Lake Michigan. Apparently Crystal "mountain" is one of the biggest places to ski in Michigan (the entire mountain is comparable to Nortic Valley's bunny hill). It really is a cute area though, we had a lot of fun. Traverse City is a pretty quaint little town, I would definitely go up there again when the weather is a little nicer. As we were driving up the hill to the condo, I took this one picture through our bug-infested window shield before our camera battery died. Oh well.
In other news, I've found some great summer furniture. $18 a piece for these chairs at Home Depot, and $12 for the little table at Aco Hardware.
I also just got this cute umbrella and chair today for $10 a piece at World Market. Score!
When I went outside to take the picture, this is what happened when I stepped out onto the grass:
The whole backyard is a complete muddy mess! Hopefully it will dry as the summer progresses. Gross! Well, that's about all the excitement in our lives right now. Jared is in school til the last week of June, then he gets about 6 weeks off before fall semester starts.
