It was the longest and worst 2 days of our lives. We rented a Budget truck because it was by far the cheapest, but now we know for next time that it is NOT worth the savings.
The truck had crappy shocks, so every time we hit any bump in the road it sent our entire truck rocking violently back and forth. One of the times I started bawling because I honestly thought we were about to die. Jared was very calm and drove us carefully out of each of these scary events safely. I felt so bad for him, because he drove the entire 30 hours it took to get here, and he didn't even have cruise control. His knee cramped up really bad a couple times and we had to stop and buy him a knee brace at a Wal Mart. Stupid Budget. He was such a good sport though.
I did make a new friend though. The bug on the upper right corner of the mirror hung on through the entire state of Wyoming. (I know, I'm lame, but I had to do something to take my mind off the thought of dying.)
Well we finally made it to Michigan at 2:00 am two days later. Jared and I went to a Lansing Lugnuts baseball game a couple days later.
A few days after that (approximately a week after we got to Michigan), we flew back to Utah for a family trip in Park City with Jared's family. We got there a couple days earlier, and were able to go camping with my family for two days at Washington Lake. We took Jared's cute sister Alina with us. It was way fun! We went fishing in the canoe...
Roasted "mallows" and breadsticks on the fire...
And went hiking up to Wall Lake ...
James rode on my uncle Scott's back, and every few minutes took off his hat and said: "Ride like the wind Bullseye!"
It was a good time. I really love my family and I'm going to miss them a lot...
Moving on.
Next we drove up to Park City with Jared's parents, sister Alina, sister Kendra, and all of Kendra's kids. They are all so dang cute and hilarious. We went on another hike.

We also went to the farmer's market, shopping at the outlets, hung out by the pool a lot, and went boating at Jordanelle reservoir.
I took this picture from the boat, it looked really pretty.
After Park City, we drove my car back to Michigan. It was a lot harder to go this time, knowing it would be a lot longer until we see them again. But we had some good times and we can stay in touch via internet and cell phones. We love all of our family so much and hope they know it. Wish us luck on our new adventure!

It's called spiro trail. It starts right up where the Alpine slide is, and it's about a 3 mile hike up, so 6 miles total. It's a beautiful trail, covered mostly in trees and not too steep for kids. It's a great one. Have fun!
Yay! Thanks for posting. Love ya!
Looks like some fun adventures! I bet that was a LONG ride in that darn truck. Good thing you are pretty easy going.
