Mommy & Me

I am the youngest girl in our family, so I've always kind of been a "Mommy's girl" (as well as a Daddy's girl). My mom came out to visit me last week, and it was wonderful to have so much one on one time with her. I have really missed our little lunch dates/ shopping dates. Right after I picked her up from the airport, we went straight to lunch at Champp's, and then went shopping at the mall by our house. The next day we drove to Detroit to see the Tigers play the Yankees (and beat them 6-3!) Jared was going to come with us, but he decided to go skydiving instead...

You can't go to a professional baseball game and not get a Brat.

Cute Mom in her Tigers shirt.

During the 7th inning stretch we sang "Take me out to the ball game" with our arms around each others' shoulders loud and proud. (We were the only ones singing around us- as a teenager I probably would have been embarrassed, but I just enjoyed the moment hanging out with my mom. It was a blast!)

On the way home from Detroit we stopped at the outlets and did some more shopping. Then we ate dinner at the Pizza House in East Lansing (right next to Jared's school.) If any of you have been to Giordano's in Chicago, the pizza here is just like it. Yum!

The next day we drove around the city of Lansing/East Lansing so I could show my mom where I work and spend most of my time here in Michigan. We also shopped a little at Home Goods and World Market. Then we went home and Jared cooked us chicken and ribs on our smoker. This picture was taken before we headed out that morning.

The next day we went with Jared to Home Depot to grab a few things, and then went shopping YET AGAIN at another mall near us. My mom and I were a little shopped-out. We stopped on the way home at Bigby's to get a frozen hot chocolate (my mom had seen them on billboards all week and was dying to try it). I think we were all a little disappointed, but it was still fun to try. Jared made us more food on the smoker, this time cornish hens and pineapple. Delish! That night we stayed up late and played games. It was so much fun. The next morning was Mother's Day, so we made my mom breakfast, and then we had to take her to the airport. :(

(This is the birthday outfit I picked out with the money my parents gave me)

Thanks Mom for coming to visit us, we had a blast! You are welcome to visit us again any time (and so are all of YOU!)

Aww, thanks Steph. And Jared, too! I had a BLAST in Michigan. I loved every minute of it. Totally worth having the fat dude take up half of my airplane seat on the flight out there. haha
