Labor Day Weekend

My parents were able to come visit us over Labor Day weekend, it was so wonderful to have them here! We tried to squeeze in as much as we could while they were here. We drove up to Frankenmuth, MI where they had the world's largest Christmas store.

Frankenmuth is a cute little Bavarian town with a lot of fun little shops. We ate at a famous chicken dinner place called Zehnder's.

We bought way too much homemade candy, pastries, and other fattening things. (I'm kind of a fan of anything taffy-like)

We really wanted to go over to Lake Michigan, but the weather forecast was awful for the weekend, so we stuck around town on Saturday and went to a couple farmer's markets and drove around and showed my parents where we spend the majority of our time. Then we played games that night. Sunday we went to church and just hung out enjoying each other's company. Monday I had to take them back to the airport, but we had a few hours so we went to the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn near the airport. It was pretty cool, and since it was labor day, it was free to get into the museum.

This is the car that President Kennedy was shot in. Kind of gave me the chills.

I'm so glad my parents were able to come visit, we get kind of lonely these days (especially me). Visitors are ALWAYS welcome! :)
